To draw alkenes and alkynes:

Study the molecule's name to determine the number of carbon atoms in the parent chain.
Draw the parent chain.
- Next, number the parent chain from left to right. Then, use the number in front of the ending to locate the proper position for the multiple bond. If the name ends in "ene", the molecule contains a double bond. If the name ends in "yne", the molecule contains a triple bond.

Add the branches listed in the name of the molecule.

Add hydrogen atoms to give each carbon atom four bonds.
