Lesson 1  Oxidation and Reduction


An electrochemical reaction is a chemical reaction that involves the transfer of electrons. Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are examples of electrochemical reactions. Corrosion is another familiar example of this type of reaction. In fact, of all chemical changes in living and non-living systems, electrochemical reactions are the most common.
