Energy Transfer
Only a small fraction of the Sun's energy is transferred from one organism to another within an ecosystem. Energy flows between producers and the various types of consumers. The available energy from one trophic level to another decreases with each transfer. This is evident in food chains, food webs, and energy pyramids
