Outcome 1

Describe the organizational structure of the tourism sector and the roles of the various organizations
Outcome 1.1	discuss the use of the terms industry and sector related to the organizational structure of tourism
Outcome 1.2	identify and define the five industry groups of the tourism sector by:
	Outcome 1.2.1	identifying the original eight sectors: transportation; accommodation; food and beverage; meetings, events and conferences; attractions; adventure tourism, recreation and ecotourism; travel trade; tourism services
	Outcome 1.2.2	discussing reasons for the changes made in relation to the eight sectors becoming five industries
Outcome 1.3	define the following terms:
	Outcome 1.3.1	tourism
	Outcome 1.3.2	tourist
	Outcome 1.3.3	outbound
	Outcome 1.3.4	inbound
Outcome 1.4	describe the different industries of the sector and the infrastructure that connects them eg. travel destinations may be connected to air transportation / surface transportation
Outcome 1.5	identify various organizations at the local, national and international level, their responsibilities and how they interact; eg. government, tourism destination regions, industry associations, local associations, private-sector operations
