Unit 4

Recreational Attractions

Lesson 13: Alberta Recreational Attractions

"Earth is simply the biggest theme park and everyone you know is there. Enjoy it. ~ Zero Dean

The Government of Alberta invites all Alberta communities, schools, colleges, universities, community organizations, and all Albertans to embrace a more active Alberta. Active communities are more creative, inclusive, and safe, thereby improving physical and mental health. Provincial parks, tourism, and recreation departments focus on offering both Albertans and tourists the positive experience our natural environments and attractions bring.

Watch the videos below for examples of recreational tourism opportunities in Alberta.

This third video is produced by Indigenous Tourism. Hike near Grande Cache with Mahikan Trails for hands-on experiential teaching with a traditional guide.

The last video on recreational attractions is about a cycling trip from Jasper to Banff. Disclaimer: you'd better be in shape to do this one. Ok, honestly, I have not done this trip but I know someone who has. Does that count?
