Lesson 2.6: Communicating in Online Courses

  Types of Communication

On this page, you will discover the role that effective communication plays in successfully completing online courses.

Email

One of the easiest ways to communicate with your teacher is by email. In synchronous courses, you can also use email to communicate with group members when working on assignments.

Video Chats

Skype and FaceTime are examples of video chats. By utilizing these applications, you can chat with your teacher or classmates, as well as share files and screens to collaborate on assignments.

Online Software

Online software applications, such as Google Docs and Google Slides, allow users to create, edit, and collaborate on documents both synchronously and asynchronously.

Give it a try!

Need to talk to your ADLC marker about an assignment? Set up a time to have a video chat with them.

Working on an assignment and would like some feedback? Create a new doc in Google Drive and share it with a friend. Set the share preferences to comment only; and ask them to give you some tips on your assignment.
