Reading

Congratulations on your progress so far! โ€˜Seeingโ€™ texts in action allows us to explore our thinking about those texts even more.

Television is a popular medium today. There are various TV programs that target and try to appeal to specific audiences. A new network, ScriptsnFlix, is trying to target a teen audience. ScriptsnFlix started a competition, asking for submissions of a shooting script for a scene from โ€œLord, What Fools!โ€

A shooting script is the script a director uses in relation to the camera angles they will be using to create the scene. When you watch movies and TV shows, likely you will have noticed that camera angles and lighting change frequently (sometimes as often as with each line a character says)โ€”this is purposefully laid out ahead of time so that when they're shooting the action, it can go smoothly.
The network is also asking for suggestions of products (with what is current and popular to their target audience) to fill their advertising slots. The products you identify can either be real or fictitious, but they need to relate to the target audience and the theme of the play.

These are challenging tasks, but recognition for a job well done is worth the effort!
