Meet Your Virtual Classmates!

Hi! My name is Rose. Originally, my family is from China, but we just recently moved to Edmonton, Alberta. I like manga, computer games, and texting my friends. I am shy and like to keep to myself. I am trying to learn the English language so that I can learn to read and write fluently in English. I think ADLC is a good fit for me as it allows me to work at my own pace with lots of teacher assistance. I phone my teacher for extra help lots. For this I used a translator program that helps me to move back and forth between my languages until I get better at English.

Hey there! I'm Kevin. I'm a fairly busy student involved in playing volleyball, listening to music, and also working part-time at the local coffee shop, Cafe au Lait. I'm saving up money to buy a used car. I struggle with school work, and my parents are constantly nagging me to get my homework done. My goal is to graduate and go to college, but I don't really know what I'd be good at. I live in rural Alberta. I like taking ADLC courses because I can work on my courses when I want, and that way, my school work does not interfere with my work schedule! To me that means I will get my car faster!

Hi, I'm Mohammed . . . I'm an athlete and I play for a Major League soccer team. I'm 15 years old. I have 2 brothers and one sister. I am the oldest. When I am not busy playing soccer, I like to hang out with my friends, go to movies, and play video games. Soccer and my family are very important to me. My parents think I'd be a great doctor, so I have to work really hard in school. I like helping people, so maybe medicine will be a good fit for me. I like taking my courses through ADLC because it allows me to work my schedule around soccer and still do my schoolwork smile

Hi! My name is Amy! This is my first time taking distance ed. I'm nervous, but I'm excited to make some new friends! I like reading, used to be in dance, and my favourite subjects are math and science. I love romantic movies too! I have been diagnosed with juvenile arthritis so attending regular school is very difficult for me as some days I am just not up to catching the bus and going to school. My doctor's appointments make keeping up with my class hard to do. I think ADLC will help me with some of these problems. I can work around my medical appointments and keep my own school work schedule.

Hi all! I'm Erik. I live in central Alberta. We have a farm and we raise pure bred quarter horses. I break the colts to lead and ride, and I need more daylight hours to do this, so I am taking courses through ADLC so I can work with our horses during the day and do my homework at night. English isn't my best subject but I am going to give it my best shot. I like reading but writing isn't my thing.

So . . . I'm Kade. All about music and being real. Graphic arts are pretty cool, too. I want to fast track my schoolwork and complete the work at a quicker pace. That way I can graduate sooner and move on to some college courses for graphic arts or designing. I didn't always get along with all of my peers and teachers at my public school, so ADLC will let me do more of "my own thing." So far I really like it and I am a happier person.

My name is Danica, and I currently live in Osaka, Japan. I have travelled around a lot because my father gets transferred for his job. I am an only child, but my mom and I are very close. These are some of the things I'm into: Fashion, Hip Hop/Pop Music, Sushi & Thai food, Photography, painting, travelling, reading, staying in touch with family and friends in Canada, and world issues. Doing my courses through ADLC allows me to not have to change schools when my dad gets transferred, and I can just continue working on my schoolwork smoothly without interruption.
