Time to Take Notes - Poetry

Complete these short notes in parts as per the instructions as you work your way through this section of the course. Short notes and related course work should be completed by the time you complete the section. If you plan to submit your work online, please submit your completed short notes to the 3.6 submission page near the end of Unit 1 Section 2. Your short notes will be evaluated for completion and accuracy and will be out of 10 possible marks.

Please note that many of the short notes in this page have been provided for you, so you do not have to type them out. It is very important that you read and memorize this information as you need to know this information and be able to apply this information for your midterm exam questions.


Step 1:    Complete the first part of your Unit 1 Section 2 Notes titled "Poetry Terminology" as you view this Poetry Tutorial and the second part of your notes using this Figurative Language Information sheet. Make sure you use the information sheet and not the video for your figurative language section part of your notes, as these are the definitions you will be expected to know and use throughout this course, and identifying figurative language is a necessary skill for your midterm exam.
Step 2:    Download the assignment format of your choice. Review the video and complete your Unit 1 Section 2 Poetry Short Notes.
