After you let the employer know your name and where you can be reached, you move on to the important information that lets the employer know why you should be hired for the job.

Several versions of résumés are possible, but a simple format follows the format outlined below. This is especially useful if you have not had much work experience or training, or if you have had several jobs for short periods of time.

Remember that the information that includes your name and address is at the top of the page.

EXPERIENCE — Because you will want the headings to stand out, try using a larger font or a bold font to draw attention to every heading in your résumé.

Skill or Ability — Each of these three sections will give examples of certain skills you have. Choose skills that relate to the job you are interested in. Be specific about the things that you can do. Try to use words that show you as an active leader at work.

List anything else that makes you a good candidate for the job.

This type of résumé is sometimes called a combination résumé because it combines the important information you want the employer to know about your skills and experience into a simple format.
