Film Viewing: Take 2!

The Assignment

Have you ever watched a DVD's bonus features, where the people involved discuss their process and their choices in making their films? If we consider that the director plans in advance for every costume, every set, and every shot, we can appreciate a film's complexity as we would in studying other texts. In fact, the addition of the visual element to films makes a director's challenge even greater.

Roll it . . . AGAIN!

Let's start focusing on the details, so we can appreciate the film in the big picture.

Before watching the film again, review the Film Study tutorial.

While you watch the film again, keep your remote control in hand, as you will be pausing often.

Complete the Viewing Journal  in the Worksheets tab to help you record your observations as you watch the film again.
