Brief Introduction to "Brother Dear"

Bernice Friesen, a Canadian artist and author, has written this story about a high school student and her relationship with her older brother. Written from the point of view of Sharlene, the reader sees how both Sharlene and Greg are trying to find ways to define who they are as individuals and how this search for individuality impacts the rest of their family. The reader observes, along with Sharlene, the interaction that Greg has with his mother and father; later, we see how these interactions affect Sharlene's views on her own life.
