Two intermediaries: A producer sells to a wholesaler (intermediary two), who then sells to a retailer (intermediary one), who then sells to the consumer.
This channel is practical and effective for large producers that want to reach many buyers. The wholesaler takes some pressure off the producer. This distribution channel is used for many convenience products (e.g., appliances and hardware). Many retailers sell these products, and the producer cannot deal with them all. For example, Whirlpool dishwashers are sold by most appliance retailers (e.g., Lowe's, Costco, Canadian Tire, The Brick). Whirlpool (the producer) can't deal with all these retailers, so the wholesaler does.
Producer → Intermediary 2 (Wholesaler) → Intermediary 1 (Retailer) → Consumer
