Online retailing is the fastest growing retail demographic world-wide. Many "brick and mortar" stores are now developing online stores to address this potential growth market. Online retail stores are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With a minimum purchase, many products are delivered to the customer's doorstep for no additional charge. Virtually everything is available for purchase online.

In catalogue shopping, catalogues with pictures of the retailer's merchandise are mailed to potential customers.  L.L. Bean® is an example. However, print catalogues are expensive to produce, and with the advent of the Internet, they are becoming rare.

Telemarketing often is used to inform consumers of the products and services sold in retail stores. Telus® uses this sales technique.

Home shopping channels sell many products on TV. These may use TV infomercials or commercials to sell the products. Do you remember ShamWOW®?
