Lesson 4: Types of Hazards

Each industry has its own hazards; they often use labels to describe different types of hazards.

Although workplace hazards can be of many types, they can generally be grouped into five categories:

Physical, Biological, Chemical, Ergonomic, and Psychological.


You will learn more about these five categories of hazards in the next units. 

For now, let's take a look at some examples of a variety of hazards in different work-site locations (e.g., office, construction, food services, warehousing, manufacturing, etc.).
