Employee and Employer Responsibilities

Work in compliance with OHS acts and regulations

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing as directed by employer

Report workplace hazards and dangers to supervisor

Work in a manner required by the employer and use the prescribed safety equipment
- Take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of themselves and other workers
- Participate in training for safe equipment operation
- Use safety devices, such as machine guards, and never take them off or alter them
- Must look after the safety of workers
- Ensure workers use prescribed protective equipment devices
- Advise workers of potential and actual hazards
- Apply every reasonable precaution for the protection of workers
- Must keep equipment in safe working order
- Must ensure workers have the training they need to do their jobs safely
- Must ensure that dangerous chemicals are properly labelled and stored
