Lesson 4.8 - Climate Graphs

Canada has several climates.  You will investigate and compare the climates of various cities in Canada. 

Read How Oceans Affect Climate on page 96 in your textbook. Then, answer the following.

Question 1. Answer What to Do question 1.

Question 2. Answer What to Do question 2.  Use the following map to answer the question.  Draw a line connecting the five cities that you have located. 

 

Question 3. Answer What to Do question 3 for the three sets of data in the graphs below.  Use the graphs below to answer the question.  Each graph is missing more that you must complete.  The last graph is a blank, and you have to draw the entire graph. Include all missing labels for the Average Annual Sunshine.

Answers to Questions:

Question 1. The temperature of the air above the ocean is about the same temperature as the ocean water.  Thus, the warmer the water temperature, the warmer the air temperature.

Question 2. Your line should show that the five cities are all about the same distance from the equator.
