Lesson 2.2 - Investigation 6-B

Preventing ice from melting in the summer can be difficult.  Campers use insulated coolers to keep ice from melting.  What would you do if you had to ship a large block of ice to an ice sculpture contest?

This investigation will evaluate various types of insulation that could be used.  You will not collect the evidence; you will use some data that a student collected.

Read Investigation 6-B on pages 112 and 113 so that you understand how the investigation was performed to collect the data.  Then, use the data in the following table to answer the questions.

Question 1. Answer questions 1, 2, and 3 of Analyze on page 113 in your textbook.

Question 2. Answer question 5 of Conclude and Apply on page 113 in your textbook.
