Theme 6: Review

In Theme 6, you learned that although there have been no more world wars since 1945, the world's peace has been very precarious. You reviewed the events that have occurred since World War II that have sometimes threatened the world's very existence, and those that have shaped and continue to shape today's world.

You saw that Canada played an important role in keeping the peace and shaping the world. This has been the result of continued involvement in both internal and international conflicts either through military intervention or peacekeeping missions.

You learned about a new kind of war that has emerged in the form of terrorism. This is not a new concept, but advances in transportation, communications, and technology have provided terrorists with the tools to carry out their destruction anywhere, on anyone, at any time.

Lastly, you looked at various different future visions of Canada and wrote about what your ideal Canada would look like in the future
