Course Information
Textile Arts 1 is worth one credit and should take approximately 25 hours to complete. Contact your teacher if you are not sure what to make as a project.
In Textile Arts 1, you must complete the assignments as outlined in the course.
Your projects can be submitted in a variety of ways: digital, video, PowerPoint, scrapbook, or typed.

Course Outcomes
The student will:
- Investigate various yarn or textile art techniques.
- Demonstrate and apply basic skills and knowledge of yarn or textile techniques.
- Apply basic skills at an appropriate level in assembling a project using one or more textile art techniques.
- Demonstrate safe and proficient use of the following:
- sewing equipment,
- pressing equipment,
- cutting tools.
- Identify copyright restrictions and permissions and put them into practice.
- Demonstrate basic competencies.
- Make personal connections to the cluster content and processes to inform possible pathway choices.
