Crochet Techniques



The Chain Stitch

 

A crochet chain stitch occurs when the yarn is pulled with the crochet hook through a loop on the hook to form a continuous strand of interlocking single loops.

  1. To make a loop, loosely wrap yarn around finger, twist once and release, put hook through loop, catch the yarn and draw it through. Pull the yarns to close around the hook.

  1. Pass the hook under the loop and catch the yarn. Draw the yarn through the loops on the hook. This makes one chain.

  2. Repeat this step until the number of chains required is met. Note: One loop always remains on the hook.
