Special Tools

• Loop turner – a latch hook device used to turn bias tubing to the other side.


• Bodkin – a special device to thread elastic, ribbon, or cord through a casing.


• Fray Check™ – a colourless liquid applied to fabric and thread edges to prevent fraying.


• Basting tape – a double-faced adhesive tape that replaces pinning and basting.


• Point turner – a tool used to poke out points on collars, lapels, and pockets.


• Pins – thin pointed piece of metal used to temporarily hold things in place; use quality rustproof pins, preferably long ones with a plastic head so the pin does not get lost in the fabric.
