You can catch a cold from a friend or family member, but can you get cancer from one? The answer is no, you cannot. You can catch a cold from someone because a cold is a communicable disease. Colds are caused by pathogens that can spread from one person to another. But cancer is a non-communicable disease. It is not caused by a pathogen. Such diseases cannot spread from person to person. In this lesson, you will learn about non-communicable diseases.
