Working With Multiple Windows
Working with Multiple Windows
As you do each assignment, you may wish to
have two windows open on your computer screen to enable you to work on
your assignment while referencing a webpage to find information.
Working with Multiple Windows on Your Computer
Working with more than one computer application is multi-tasking because two windows must be open simultaneously on the computer screen (known as the desktop).
Those windows can be relocated and resized
manually to allow more than one window to appear on the desktop. A
quicker way is to...
-
Right-click on an unused part of the taskbar, which is the bottom strip of your computer desktop that has the start button at the left.
- In the resulting pop-up menu, click Tile Windows Vertically or View Windows Side by Side.
This will re-arrange all your windows to make them appear on your desktop--and that might be too many! If you have more than two windows open, you must minimize all but two. To do so, repeat the right-click on the taskbar and again choose Tile Windows Vertically or View Windows Side by Side. Now, you will have two workable windows arranged nicely on your desktop.
This allows you to reference one window (such as finding information on a webpage) while working actively in the second window.
