Why Should You Volunteer in Your Community?

There are many reasons to be a volunteer. Here are some of them:

  • Volunteering is a very good way to get work experience. You can learn new skills in different volunteer positions.
  • You might find something you'd like to do for a living or even discover what you would not want to do.
  • You may meet people who can give you guidance and possibly help you to find a paid job later on.
  • Some volunteer positions might involve travel across Canada or to other countries.
  • You can learn how charitable organizations work.
  • You will be doing something that you think is important and probably will help someone else along the way.
