When a contractor builds a house, one of the most complicated rooms is the kitchen. There are many different things that must go into the kitchen, including a fridge, stove, sink, and cupboards. There is also the basic structure, which includes the floor, walls, plumbing, and electricity. The items used in a kitchen come from all over the world.

Research Work on the Internet
Doing research on the Internet is different from doing research from a book or magazine, partly because it is not always easy to locate correct information. Here are some steps to follow:
1. The first thing you need to do when you are looking for information is to use a good search engine. A search engine enables you to look for information and images by typing in keywords and phrases, and then it searches for relevant websites. If you want to be really specific in your search, put quotation marks around the phrase you are looking for. To find images, Google is your best bet, as you can click on the "images" bar and only relevant images will appear.
For more great tips on how to use search engines, try Google's help site
here.
2. The second challenge with doing Internet research is that accuracy can be an issue.
-
Who wrote the content on this Internet site?
-
Can you trust what they had to say?
-
Does the author identify himself or herself? Perhaps this is someone with some opinion he or she
wants
to sell, and the information presented is biased to convince you to buy in. The author could even just be someone with a website who knows little or nothing about the content. Check to make sure the content of the website is accurate.
In the next assignment, you will be researching a product and finding out where the parts that make it up come from. You will use the Internet to find information about the product you chose.
