In this theme, you will think about the art of storytelling. You will learn that telling stories has long been a traditional part of the culture of many groups of people. You will think about how cultural perspectives can influence how some groups of people are viewed by others. And you will take a close look at how the media portrays different cultural groups.
You will then spend some time looking at what authors put into their stories to make them interesting to readers. To end this theme, you will look at how the oral tradition of storytelling can be combined with the technology of today to produce different kinds of stories.

This theme includes five lessons:
  • Lesson 19 — Storytelling
  • Lesson 20 — Storytelling and Cultural Perspectives
  • Lesson 21 — First Nations Peoples in the Media
  • Lesson 22 — Storytelling Techniques
  • Lesson 23 — Another Kind of Storytelling
