Volunteer hours

In order to receive credit for Physical Education 30, students must complete 10 hours of volunteering. The volunteer placements must promote physical activity.

Some examples of acceptable placements are:
  • Assisting with coaching a team younger than yourself.
  • Score keeping at a tournament at a local school or sporting organization.
  • Flagging at a soccer game.
  • Volunteering in your local school's Physical Education program.
  • Helping at a charity event like a 5 km walk/run or the Terry Fox Run.
  • Youth Group events which have a physical activity component.
  • Groups like the YMCA may have opportunities for you to volunteer at.

Whichever volunteer activity you choose, it must be approved by your teacher prior to you partaking in the volunteer hours.  Be sure to provide your idea for volunteering on the course plan.  Contact your teacher if you have questions about volunteering.

Once you have secured your volunteering placement, use the package below to log hours, record supervisor information and complete the post volunteer placement reflections.

  Remember that you need to obtain and submit at least 3 pictures of you at your volunteer placement.

After you have completed the entire volunteering package, submit to the volunteer assignment page in the online course submissions section of the course.
