Course Completion / Credits Information
Prior to completing your final assessment, review this information to ensure you understand the last few steps required for you to complete your course and then how your course is processed and ultimately, how you receive your credits.
Your course is completed when....
- Every assessment has been submitted AND marked. Assessments should be marked within 3 business days of receiving your assignment, if an assessment is not marked, check for feedback on that assessment. If there is no
feedback, contact your teacher. It is the student's responsibility to ensure their work has been marked by checking their marks.
- Check your marks in the Grades section of the Moodle course or by looking at your course marks in SIS. Ensure you have received the marks required for course completion.
After your course is completed...
- Course Finalization
- Your ADLC teacher will finalize your course. The finalization process is when then teacher assigns your final mark as well as completes steps within the computer systems. This is a manual process that requires time for the teacher
to complete.
- You will receive an email confirming your course has been completed. The email will contain your final mark and a comment from the teacher. The email is sent to the student email address listed in the SIS system.
- Once your teacher finalizes your course, you will lose all access to your course in Moodle. (Diploma courses do not get removed instantly to allow students access to study). If you want to see marks on final assessments, you can find that information in SIS.

- Course Reported to Alberta Education
- ADLC reports marks directly to Alberta Education after the teacher finalizes your course.
- You can access all high school marks/credits with Alberta Education through
MyPass. You can set up your own account if you have your Alberta Student Number.
- Once you are in MyPass, look at your Detailed Academic Report (DAR) to ensure that your completed ADLC course is listed and credits have been awarded.
- Your course should show up on your Detailed Academic Report within 2 business days of receiving your finalization email.
*Note: ADLC does not report marks directly to local schools or their mark programs like PowerSchool or HomeLogic. You can produce a grade report to give to your local school or keep for your own records using these directions.
Course Expiry Dates
Course expiry dates are found in SIS and are typically one calendar year from the date you enroll. This is the date that the course will be completely removed from the learning management system. The expiry date
is NOT the due date for your last assessment to be submitted. This means you MUST give time for your last assignments to be marked and your final marks to be processed. If your last submissions are online, you should give a minimum of 7 days to process your work. If your submissions are print and mailed/dropped off at an ADLC campus, you should give a minimum of 14 days for last submissions to be marked and processed.
If you have any questions about these processes, please contact your ADLC teacher.
