Lesson 7: Controlling Heat Transfer

We check and control heat transfer often in our everyday lives. The image on the right shows an example of this. Can you see the beads of water in the frying pan? A cook is using this method to check the amount of heat transfer. In this lesson, you will learn about the scientific principles involved in controlling the transfer of thermal energy. You will then examine factors that affect heat absorption and heat loss, both in homes and in the clothing people choose to wear.

If the water sizzles...you're good to go!
