Lesson 17 Activity 3: Finding Radius

So far, you have learned how to find the circumference and the diameter of a circle. Now, you will learn how to find the radius of a circle.

Remember, the radius of a circle is the distance from the centre of the circle to any point on the circle.

Use this formula when finding the radius of a circle.

Where the radius (r) is equal to the circumference (C) of the circle divided by 2 times π (2 x 3.14).

Let's try an example!

Using your calculator, find the radius of the circle below using the formula.

Let's try one more. Find the radius of the circle. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.

  Self-check!

Try This!

Using your calculator, find the radius of the circle using the formula that you learned above. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.
