Lesson 19 Activity 3: Drawing Angles

You can also use the protractor when drawing angles.

*Note: You will need a protractor for this lesson. Please get your protractor now, and then return to the lesson. If you do not have a protractor, click here to download a paper version that you can cut out.

Here are the steps to drawing an angle :

  1. Draw a straight line (e.g., an arm of the angle).
  2. Place a dot at one end of the arm.
  3. Place the centre of the protractor at the vertex dot and the baseline of the protractor along the arm of the angle.
  4. Find the required angle on the scale and then mark a small dot at the edge of the protractor.
  5. Join the small dot to the vertex with a ruler to form the second arm of the angle.

For example, here are the steps if we want to draw an angle of 60 degrees.
