Lesson 29 Activity 3:

Using a Spreadsheet to Budget

In this activity, you will use a spreadsheet to prepare a special kind of budget.

Jocko Pete is planning to buy a new sports car. He has $80,000 to spend. Help Jocko prepare an "Options" budget for his new car.

The car Jocko wants is a ZP Interceptor with a base price of $65,000. The base price is the basic car with no options. The options available are Magnum wheels for $1,260, satellite radio for $1,625, a V10 turbo-charged engine for $7,580, a six-speed manual transmission for$3,500, Super-Dura metallic paint for $5,090, enhanced chrome exhaust for $1,575, and leather bucket seats for $875.

Enter the values you want to include in the spreadsheet below.

Remember that Jocko has only $80,000 to spend. If you go over that, then you will have to delete one or more items. The base price cannot be changed.
