Roles of Parents and Coaches in Nutrition
Parents and coaches can be highly influential in athlete nutrition.
Proper nutrition is essential for good health and optimal athletic performance. Coaches and parents are powerful role models, and they can have strong influence on young athletes. That these adults watch for signs of eating disorders or unhealthy eating is important so that steps can be taken to help the athlete when necessary.
Coaches should emphasize this with their athletes and encourage healthy eating. Remember that this is about what the athletes eat and about when they eat as well. Timing is important, as Section 3 indicated.

Parents also have important roles in athlete nutrition. Parents are responsible for providing healthy foods for their children, as well as for providing them with options on the go. Many athletes have busy schedules, and planning ahead and being prepared is important.
