1.5 Critical Challenge Globalization and You
Completion requirements
1.5 Critical Thinking
In this course, there are several assignments called "critical challenges". These challenges encourage you to think critically about important questions. Each question or task requires you to make a judgment or come to some kind of conclusion based on
information and reasoning. During this course, those questions focus on globalization and its impact on you and the world you live in.
Critical thinking skills are essential in today's world. We are faced with decisions about problems, issues, or personal understanding. If we are an uncritical thinker, we have to rely on what other people say. As a result, they might control our actions and thoughts. Critical thought leads not only to forming a position but also to action.
Critical thinking skills are essential in a functioning democracy. As citizens in a democracy, we need to accept the responsibility of making decisions that will benefit our country and fellow humans. Citizens who think fairly and reasonably arrive at workable solutions for the world around them. In our globalizing world with increased communication technology, we are becoming more aware that our decisions have far-reaching consequences.

To know and not to act is not to know.
