Lockout/Tagout Procedures
Many people are hurt or killed every year by using damaged electrical equipment or by fixing equipment still connected to electricity.
Lockout procedures are used in many industries to prevent these types of accidents.
Locking-out means disconnecting the equipment from the power source -- first, by turning off the switch, and then by turning off the circuit at the circuit breaker.
