How Will You Be Marked?

NOT FOR MARKS (Formative Assessment)
SELF-CHECKS

Self-check questions are not for marks. Rather, they are formative assessment, or a learning opportunity. Self-check questions are practice questions that are meant to encourage you to think about problems in different ways. These practice questions also help you identify concepts you need to review.

You need to complete self-check questions at the end of each lesson and section. Make sure that you have completed and understand all the self-check questions. After you have completed the questions, check the provided answers carefully, and make sure you contact your teacher if you are unsure about any of the questions or answers.

FOR MARKS (Summative Assessment)
SECTION QUIZZES AND TASKS, UNIT PROJECTS, UNIT EXAMS, FINAL EXAM

Summative assessments are for marks. Summative Assessments show your teacher what you have learned, and are used to calculate your mark in the course.

You need to complete 4 section assessments in each unit. That makes 20 section assessments for the entire course. Section assessments can be a multiple choice quiz or a project.

You will also need to complete a unit project and a unit exam at the end of each unit. The unit projects have detailed instructions and an assessment rubric that tells you how the project will be marked. The unit exam will contain both multiple choice and written answer questions.

At the end of this course, you will write a final exam.
