As you have seen throughout your studies so far, immigration legislation and policies have changed throughout the years. These policies and legislation will continue to change according to the needs of the ever-changing economy and world issues.
Read
- Turn to page 167 of your textbook, Issues for Canadians, to learn about the immigration categories in Canada. Examine the pie chart explaining the percentage of immigrants accepted from each category.
- Then, read "Some Objectives of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, 2002" at the bottom of
page 167.

Compare the two acts. Answer the following questions in your notes.
