Here are some facts you may not have known about Quebec:
- It is called "La Belle Province" (the beautiful or special province).
- Territorially, it is the largest province in Canada. (Nunavut is larger, but Nunavut is a territory.)
- It has a population of 7 560 592 people according to the 2005 census.
- It is the second-largest province by population. (Ontario is the largest.)
- Montreal is the largest city in Quebec.
- Quebec City is the capital city of the province.
- French is the official language of Quebec. (New Brunswick is the only officially bilingual province in Canada.)
- It has the largest French population outside of France.
- It has a very long and unique history. Quebec City celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2008.
- Quebec has its own unique identity in Canada.
