Workbook Summary
In this workbook, you investigated the following questions.
What are the connections between governance, economics, and environmental issues?
How do they affect my quality of life?
What can my government do to make a difference?
Climate change is a major environmental issue that affects the whole Earth. To become well-informed is important - not only on how climate change affects your quality of life, identity, and citizenship, but also how it impacts your community, province, country, and world.
At a local or community level, you may have a recycle, reuse, reduce program as a local government initiative to respond to environmental issues. Each local government may have various ideas and programs to respond to local, provincial, national, or global environmental issues.
Both the provincial and federal governments also have sustainability and environmental initiatives to respond to environmental issues. As initiatives are put in place, governments try to balance regional, political, and economic differences. Individual consumers and groups in society actively take on roles to work with government and help in the process of making political and economic decisions.
In the next workbook, you will explore how you can make a difference as an active citizen.
