Globalization is about how people around the world are connected with each other and depend on each other.
Globalization offers new opportunities and provides people with opportunities to have better lives. However, it presents problems for people and the environment.
In this course, you will learn what globalization is and how it works. You will be encouraged to understand the points of view of people with various backgrounds, values, and experiences.

Globalization affects each person. Sometimes this is good, and sometimes it is bad — and sometimes both good and bad! It affects how we live, how we earn our incomes, and who we are.
Each has his or her own experience and point of view concerning globalization. These experiences and perspectives make Canada a great nation. Our Canadian identity, or who we are as Canadians, is shaped by many factors. Citizens of Canada and the world know the importance of diversity and should respect each others' differences.
In this course, you will learn what globalization is and how it works. You will be encouraged to understand the points of view of people with various backgrounds, values, and experiences.
This course contains eight units of study.
- You will write a Midterm Exam (Exam One) after all required items in Units 1 to 4 have been submitted and marked.
- You will write a Final Exam (Exam Two) after all required items in Units 1 to 8 have been submitted and marked.
