Lesson 6: Handling Hazardous

Materials Safely

Most people automatically associate chemicals with scientists in labs, but chemicals are also found in many of the products we use at work and at home. While they have a variety of beneficial uses, chemicals can also be extremely harmful if they are misused. When working with hazardous chemicals, the most important thing is that you are using them safely. In this lesson, you will learn about household safety symbols, how they compare to the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and how you can use both to stay safe.
