Some parts of forested lands are special for a variety of reasons, and
thus should be safeguarded.
They might be culturally sensitive or archeologically significant for historical reasons.
They might be special because of modern scientific experimentation such as temporary or permanent research plots. Or they might present a special ecological system for plants or fauna animals.

Special Sites are Recognized and Protected
- Archeological resources are protected.
- Research or permanent sample plots are protected.
- Special wildlife habitats or rare plants are protected.
- Problems with insect and disease are prevented.
