Writing the Research Report

Lesson 3

Assignment 4-3

Target

Assignment

In this lesson you will consider infographics and write your research report.

Step Four: Draft your paper

After a workable outline has been completed with the order of information decided, you can begin to write your first draft.

  • Writing an introduction, which is general, can be difficult and it might slow the writing process. Sometimes, starting with the body paragraphs, which are specific, is easier. Then, writing the introduction is less intimidating. (Often, when you know what is in the report, you can introduce it quite well!)

  • Focus on expressing ideas and supporting detail in this draft. You can edit spelling and grammar later.
  • As an introduction to correct formatting of your report, watch The Purdue Online Writing Lab Introduction to MLA Format. Visit https://goo.gl/Rr6FRu to watch.

Write the first draft of your report now. Then continue to the next page of this lesson.
