- Go to the following website to read the list of official symbols of Canada.
https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/services/official-symbols-canada.html -
From the list on the site, choose three items from the list that you think represent best the Canadian identity. If you wish, you may identify other items that you think best represent the Canadian identity.
Then, explain why those items represent best the Canadian identity. - For example, you may think hockey is the top item that identifies Canada because you come from a province or a community that lives and breathes hockey.
- Or, you might choose Canada Day because you think we are a very prideful nation that loves the freedom this country provides.

Download and complete the
What I Think Defines Canada document.
Please save your work to a file on your desktop so you will have a copy to refer back to. - Click on one of the links provided to download the document.
- You will then be able to view the What I Think Defines Canada worksheet.
- When you have completed your top three list, post it to the Discussion Board on the next page to share with others your thoughts about what identifies Canada.
- Be sure to return to the Discussion Board to check the postings of other students to gain a sense of the differences in opinion of important identifying items.
