Unit 3 Overview

In Unit 3, you will explore the influence of the Métis on the development of Western Canada.

You will explore the effect of mass immigration to the West, and finally, you will learn how new provinces were formed.


The questions addressed in Unit 3 are the following:


  1. How have events and policies since Confederation shaped Canadian society?
  2. How do individuals and groups change each other?
  3. What effect do history and geography have on change?
  4. How do government policies affect citizens?
  5. How do new people influence the perspectives of citizens of a country?

You will be using the textbook, Voices and Visions: A Story of Canada.
