Look at the map at the bottom page 171 of the textbook that shows Métis locations in Western Canada.

The Red River region included about 1000 other First Nations, Roman Catholic missionaries, Canadiens, and British Hudson’s Bay Company employees.

Read pages 172 to 176 of the textbook, which show how the Red River Métis had a unique culture in the 1800s.
