Growth in the West
Chapter 9 will explore natural resources and early industry in the Western Canadian provinces.
Natural resources include land, water, oil, minerals, lumber, fish, and animals.
Industry includes logging, farming, oil and gas, and the building of the national railroad – the CPR – across the Prairies.
Chapter 9 discusses the ways in which the Canadian government secured access to the resources in the West.
