Natural resources are the parts of nature that people can use.

They result in many jobs and opportunities. Lumber is required to build homes, oil and gas heat our homes and run our cars, and farming and ranching provide food.

Western Canada was built on the abundance of natural resources.

Why did First Nations live on the northwest coast? Why did Europeans stay in Canada? The answer is natural resources.
