  3. Complete the questions in the lesson summary as you read the assigned textbook pages for this lesson.

  4. Read pages 286 and 287 in your textbook.
          • Give particular attention to the pictures of old and new technologies at the top of page 287.

          • What are some of the positive and negative effects of the new technologies?

  5. Read pages 289 to 295 of the textbook.
          • Canada’s economy experienced many changes to bring us to where we are now.

          • Technology continued to advance through the 20th century.  In the late 1900s, many new technologies developed including satellite TV, cellular phones, computers, and many forms of software.

  6. When you have completed your lesson summary, go to the next page.
